James Roos is an Associate Lawyer with MD Lawyers. James works with the multi-talented team at MD Lawyers on a wide variety of personal injury matters, including medical malpractice and motor vehicle collisions.
James grew up in a small town in Northern Ontario. He moved to London in 2009 and has since called the city his home. James’ small town roots and his scientific acumen render him a confident and passionate advocate for all who have been injured by the negligence of others. In addition to practicing law, James enjoys spending time with his wife and children. James has planted more than 240,000 trees in Northern Ontario. He enjoys cultivating hot peppers and fermenting his own sauces. He is a professional Pac-Man player. In 2008, he earned his black belt and the title of “Sensei” in Freestyle Karate under school director Sensei Ian Cameron.
James joined MD Lawyers in 2020 as a law student. Since then, he has gained invaluable experience and mentorship in all stages of personal injury and medical malpractice law, from initial investigations to the trial stage. In 2021, James was part of a successful medical malpractice trial team in which the jury awarded our clients damages in the amount of $1.9 million.
In the summer of 2022, James graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School with his Juris Doctor degree. Prior to Law School, James earned a Bachelor of Medical Sciences degree and Master of Science degree from Western University. His graduate thesis evaluated injury patterns of fatal car accident victims across Canada. At Osgoode Hall Law School, James developed his aptitude for advocacy and evidentiary analysis. In addition to performing in Osgoode’s competitive mooting circuit, James completed Osgoode’s Criminal Law Intensive Programme where he gained significant trial experience working with the Toronto Crown Attorney during two separate murder trials.
